After working together for 15 years and taking 3 years to explore new cuisines in Taiwan and South Korea, Chao and Garcia have opened Ika Grill Sushi + Pan-Asian in Leawood, applying their newly learned cuisines and refined palette, including some classic dishes, reinventing some old favorites to their brand new menu.

One of my go to dishes is the kun pun shrimp. The breading is the perfect amount, it's crispy on the outside yet still chewy on the inside, the shrimp is tender, and the thick, spicy sauce is what I come back for.

Ika Grill is relentless about their quality and has some of the best sushi around. One step further their ownership takes the time to meet their customer's by name, even remembered I had a young son. Absolutely, perfect, or the closest I've come across.
